Jewellery Care

All Miriam de Langley jewellery is made of the highest quality precious metals, sterling silver, 24k, 18k, or 14K gold and natural gemstones. Your pieces are handcrafted to last a lifetime, taking good care of your fine jewellery, ensures it will.

Storage

It is recommended that you store each piece of jewellery separately. Keep in a sealed container, pouch, or box when not being worn. This will protect from scratching against other jewellery and from oxidization.

Cleaning

Sterling silver will tarnish over time, especially if it's being worn often. Tarnish, or oxidization can have a yellowish sheen at first before it turns a darker grey. Silver and gold alloys can be easily cleaned by the method below. Note: For pieces with gemstones follow only step 1.

  1. Soap and water: Use warm water and dish soap to clean the jewellery. Gently rub by hand, with a soft cloth, or a soft-bristled brush. This will remove most dirt and oxidization without harming gemstones.
  1. Baking soda and water: to further brighten the piece, make a paste of baking soda and water and use a soft cloth, or a soft-bristled brush to apply a pea-sized amount to the silver and gently polish. Run the piece under warm water, and dry with a clean cloth.

Tips

Wear your jewellery all the time! Well, almost all the time. It’s best to take your jewellery off before showering, and use common sense to avoid wearing your jewellery while handling anything rough that will scratch or bang against it (ie. Yard work, dishes etc).
